Or, how would you describe your mindset when posting?

I post what I would say to contribute if this were a conversation, so I tend to make short posts, and then edit them several times to elaborate, and check spelling and grammar.

Sometimes I don't edit. Some would say this results in some spam-tacular [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.69507#662220] posts. Although I make a habit of posting more than one word.

You, sir, are the creator of the most pointless threads I have ever seen.
I insult people to make me feel better before I contribute to a thread..

I'll post my thoughts then read it over, but no matter how many times I do it I won't find half of the mistakes untill im reading the posted message. >.>

Sometimes I get really long theories and Ideals that I just feel the unnerving desire to share with others; in those instances I tend to make long arsed posts just to inform everyone of how I feel.

That way I can sit back and watch the comments roll in without needing to immediately clarify something I may or may not have left out.

At other times I'm like you - Just feeling that I'm having a conversation, so I keep the posts short..and with an opening for reply.

And yet most of the time It's just an idea that popped into my head, and as I type...it grows. So it turns out from a one-lined reply into a four-paragraphed pseudo-essay that was fathomed while my fingers plunked away at little black keys.

Then when it's all said and done I typically go back re-read it, and realize (from past experience with worse-set-up forums) that I've used CAPSLOCK to emphasize certain bits of text when I can just as easily use the HTML and to bold and italicize my words.

Fancy.

Truth. Especially considering your two glaring typos

I usually go to post, and write a huge reply or some such, then decide that what I say is either too off-topic, or might harm my integrity as a member, or something like that, and delete whatever I was going to post and go to another thread.

When I do wind up posting something, it's fairly common to start with a basic idea, with the mind-set that it will only be a few sentences, but after elaboration and analysis, it ends up a few paragraphs.

I make post haste to post about as much stupid/retarded/'slow' posts as I can. I find if you keep few sentences people argue pretty much the same thing so it saves time.

Most the time I'll type a load of stuff out and then realise I'm contributing very little to the thread and just X it or hit the back button instead.

We are the same, you and me.

Also, my posts almost always contain different lines for thoughts that aren't meant to be taken as one full thought.

Well, he is an INFAMOUS Scribber.

-I usually try to make a point in my posts.
-Sometime, I say stupid things, because I have nothing better to do.
-Calling a lock or ban

You mean that you often post calling for a lock or ban;
Or that this thread should be locked or I should be banned;
Or that Bard should be banned for being insulting?

That's not a spoon, it's a knife.
I just thought the ice cream made my gums bleed.

No wait, it does. It's a spoon. A sharp spoon.

I tend to just find threads I find interesting, and then I post..

then I hover over the forums for a few hours catching convos when I can

that's why so many times the "latest post by" is me for 10 threads >.>

basically, I'm a postwhore, but I most often have substance in my posts.

My habits....
I find myself more often than usual using fancy expensive and irrelevant [http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=nUtFQec0phk] tags to some words.
The latter-most habit of mine I once got banned for a week, because they hadn't invented the probation back then.
Since, I have grown much more self-conscious and have learned to avoid at all costs:
  • O RLY owls
    Rick Rolling
    Anything that could be taken out of Context by Darth Mobi-damnit!
