Well, I'm drinking. Celebration of a new year.

Quite right, I should have! But I was at a non-drinking social event with friends. Furthermore I was driving and if there is anything I will not do driving under the influence is on the top five of the list. So I drink the beer I bought now. I drink it to usher in a new year, with new challenges and new moments of joy.

Another good question. I have no friends who I care to drink with or who are of age to drink with. Of my "nerdy" friends I am the only one who can buy alcohol on his own. I also live in a town without a bar I care to go to (the hotel 'bar' is basically the place you go to get drunk if you're an alcoholic, not if you're looking for a good time.). Driving into a city to go to a night club comes with the question of "Where do I crash when I'm done?" So drinking alone has really become the only way I'll drink these days. I don't usually like to drink alone but today is the first night of a new year so there you go!

Yes, in fact there is! How many of you have posted while drinking? Would you be able to pull it off without getting mod wrath? Do you think there is some social, community pressure to stay sober on the forums?
I'm using this occasion to see how many of us post under the influence for the hell of it. I'm bored, getting drunker as the night goes on and feeling great. 2011 was something, I have no idea where 2012 is going. I certainly don't plan on dying if there is a zombie apocalypse or something. I'll have my machete sharpened for that >
Oh and there was one other question I wanted to ask.
What kind of drunk are you?
I've been told I'm just a more energetic, friendly version of myself. Who does stupid things for the sake of doing stupid things. It's hard to explain but I do feel quite aware of what I'm doing. I just want to act stupid because I have "an excuse". I usually am able to convince myself to not eat raw meat or other things!

Started drinking in Universitythis year last year. I drank pretty heavily, quit for an entire month in March. Since then I have been able to control where/when I drink very well. This is a moment I wanted to drink and I could drink safely.
Am I different person when I drink? Well, converse with me and decide for yourself. I'm not making this because I value attention. If I did, I'd make controversial posts about Valve. No, I'm just having fun and that's what I'd like these forums to be. Fun.
2012 is only what we make of it and I think we should make it a fun, valuable experience. We shouldn't make it a year of partisan bickering over opinions nor should we be cynical for the sake of being cynical. Keep your minds open, be true to yourself and value the small things. We're all going to end up old in one way or another. So let's get old in a way that will not intentionally hurt others.

Oh and those of you looking for a TL;DR? Don't bother, I'd like us to start READING in 2012.
