so i was just thinking about space Odessey, the Jetsons and some sci-fi movie I forget the name of and I wonder. do you think that if we actually tried to make that sort of reality happen that we could have had a world like that?
I mean, the Automobile was made in about 1880, the first plane in 1900, the Jet engine in 1940 and we sent a man into space in 1960. these aren't the specific years, correct me if you want.
these sort of things my seem like a long time apart but this all could have happened in one mans lifetime, to him, it would be easy to think that the world could be so vastly different 100 moe years into te future. but for the last 20-30 years it seems it's all about information and communicatioon technology with some alternate fuel technology. medical science seems to be moving at the same rate for the last 60 years, getting steadily better. plus morst of the greatest dicoveries of my lifetime are all still in development.
think we could have made the tech that the people envisioned we'd make if we thought it was productive?
