Power Hero?

I feel that power metal is ignored far too much in Guitar Hero games. It would be perfect for it, especially with the full band going. Huge solos, catchy lyrics and a whole mess of double-bass action.

I know it isn't exactly the most popular genre going but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy this... am I?

I see your point though. I do think Guitar Hero should put more Power Metal, but not everyone listens to power metal. The developers proably just wanna put in songs that most people can recongnize.

That game would certainly be challenging. The thing is, it wouldn't sell well. It's a niche market and the Guitar Hero series are dying. Maybe some DLC, but not a full game.

Could use some 3 Inches of Blood, but alas both GH and RB keep ignoring that fact...and it's not like they haven't licensed their music to other games (Saint's Row 2 and Brutal Legend, for 2 examples).

Asking Guitar Hero's developers to actually put music in their games that real gamers actually wants to listen/play will not work. It's become apparent to me that they care very little about what vocal gamers say and instead stick to what continues to sell to the mindless masses of consumers.

There was a Dragonforce track pack on Guitar Hero 3. But I personally think that wouldn't go any farther than the drawing board. As long as Activision is jerking itself off with Guitar Hero's popularity, there will always be the same shit song selection that appeals to the mainstream.

I agree. Impulse was probably the most fun song in any GH for me.

I'd hardly call Dragonforce power metal, but then again that's just my opinion. They just seem to play fast for the sake of being gimmicky about it. It was more my vision to finish the whole game playing Keeper of the 7 Keys while the credits roll by in a final gig at the gates of Valhalla!

Id love more Power Metal in Guitar Hero games. The Sword and Dragonforce just arent enough. I want to see Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Dream Evil, Firewind, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth and Manowar. I would then be so overcame with desire Id probably mug everyone in my local gamestop for it.
