pre-cod4 multiplayer

seeing as I didn't start playing cod until mw2, i never got a chance to see the other game's multiplayers. according to youtube, cod4 and world at war were pretty much the same, but i can't figure out 1-3. what was the way you selected weapons/other equipment? were they faction specific?

They were indeed Faction specific, Germans got German guns, British got british guns (and USA guns due to Lend-lease) USA got USA guns, Russians got Russian guns.

British and USA were the best as they had the M1 Grand which was brilliant.
Combat wise, it used to be less run and gun, but the days of run and gun are upon us, it has seeped into CoD:CLASSIC, its interesting to see.
