Pre-Order Delays/Lates

I was just curious; how many of you have pre-ordered a game, then the day it's released, you didn't get your pre-order?

I ordered Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Limited Edition in October, and it's still in Toronto. I live in a city near Vancouver.

What about you, fellow escapists?

I don't pre-order.

In act I rarely even buy games launch date anymore.

But Im guessing you went to a gamestop, Ive had nothing but trouble wit them back in the day, they always give away people's preorders. Happened to me at least three times and they weren't even high profile games

Actually, this is my first game I've ever pre-ordered (definitely not doing that again!) and I ordered it off the Ubisoft officical website. It was kind of a piss off - but I went out and rented the game so I could at least get started.

That seems like a waste. Id sooner jsut complain to Ubisoft and either tell them to give me my game within a certain time frame or to refund me, and Id go somewhere else. You're not missing out on anything by not buying the game day one really and Im sure you have plenty of games that can hold you over till then or hopefully other hobbies and ways to kill time

I had to wait several days for Amazon to figure out where the hell my copy of New Vegas was. They gave me a $10 credit though, so that sort of evened things out. Would've really liked to get it on release date though.

So you could experience mind blowing CTDs that much sooner?

And yeah, the first time a company doesn't give me my preorder on release day is the last time I buy a game from them. I don't support that kind of bullshit.

well I wouldn't be so quick to cut ties with them completely. Mistakes happen especially in high volume sales. If they make amends like given out gift cards or even just genuine sincere customer service than I wouldn't hold it against them to too much.
