Im looking at pre ordering MW2. I have vouchers for game but its listed at £44.99 on Play and I wouldn't have to leave the house.

My question is, has anyone here preordered from Play? Does it arrive on release day? Any suggestions better than play? Im open to advice.

well i always pre-order from game. so far every game is a day before its actall release, and i pre-order a week b4 hand then again mw2 is so popular if u pre-order now u should get it a day b4

i dont like play as i usually get issues with either the speed of their service or the quality of the product (damaged casing etc)

also dont your vouchers have a code cant u put that into the game online stoer and u wont have to leave the house either way anyway.

it may depend on where in the uk u are try using both companys at some point to see which works best for you

People are actually buying this? Wow, guess Activision wins again. I liked the first one but I'm not gonna pay what they are asking for MW2.

Meh. The rather hefty £45 price tag is actually the equivalent of game prices before Activision put the prices up. No games retailer will ever charge more than 50 pounds for it, nobody would buy it. Fortunately I pre-ordered from Amazon weeks ago, and they send the game to you up to two days before release. Generally it's a day, but I've received one or two games two days beforehand.

If by people you mean me then yes.

£44.99 is fairly typical of a release day price.

Normally stuff I get from play comes a few days before release. I got all the futurama "films" and greendays latest album one or two days earlier form play

Play.com? I've always found Amazon to have faster arrival times (Nearly always earlier than predicted) and also the costs are below RRP. Usually.

£45 is £5 more than I'll usually pay for a game when new, the only games I've seen that have retailed for more than £40 new are Tales of Vesperia and MW2, I wouldn't pay £45 for a new game.

I pre-ordered Killzone 2 from Play and got it the Wednesday before release. Can't guarantee the same will happen with you, but there's always a chance.

Live in Australia you wouldn't have any games by that logic.
Do any of these places send them overseas (50 pound still cheaper than 120 AUD)??
Also sorry for the intruding (obviously not form the UK)

Probably, although you'd get robbed on shipping being on the oposite side of the planet. Do you use PAL down there?

You're not alone, I enjoyed COD4 quite immensly but I see little reason they should put the price up, when they should be focusing on reducing production costs instead of reaching further into our wallets.
If it still ends up being successful then all I can say is I will get the game when it drops to or below £40 and I'll still end up getting the same experience everyone else has. Activision and all publishers can shove it if they believe this will be successful, all I need to do is buy preowned or wait a little longer to fuck with their profit and I won't be alone.

thank god im not the only im waiting till it drops under £40 too. As there is no reason that mw2 should cost more.

Which is why it's best to wait at least 3 months. The online prices drop usually by at least £10-£20
