And, just like that, 2K is dead to me. Dumping in a progression system just so you can add pay to skip options for suckers is part of what makes the gaming scene possibly the worst of the media industry.

You are tainting our hobby you fucking bags of shit!
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Well one fell swoop they killed any interest I had in the game, congratulations 2K.....

So... By pre-ordering this particular game, you get a change to evolve to a higher tier of gameplay right off the bat?

Seems legit... and, if I'm being honest, defeats the purpose of the MP element of the game? I mean, I still have nothing against pre-ordering in general, but this does not seem like something you would put as a pre-order "bonus", let alone something to "obtain" in the first place... But, what do I know? This particular "bonus" is not even aimed at someone like me in the first place...

Holy hell do some people overreact over the smallest thing. Pre-orders are completely harmless as is this.
Anyway from a neutral standpoint this is a better bonus than skins or weapons which hardly anyone uses anyway... these types of games tend to be heavy on the grinding pretty much always so unless unlocking things is what is fun to you... what is the problem? That its Xbox exclusive? Yeah I'm sure that its it, perhaps if it was PC we'd not get all these responses... well actually we'd get a different type of responses I'd wager.

annnnnnd just like that fuck this game. Why break your game to give this illusion of intensive so i dnt have to grind......to unlock shit that sure as fuck should have beeen in the game. Thats like L4D2 you had to play with all the guns you start with before you can even touch an autoshot gun or pipe bomb. No thanks.

It is in the game... it just won't be available on other platforms during the beta.

I think the real question here is this: if skipping the grinding is considered an improvement to the experience, then why the hell did they put grinding in the game in the first place?

Surely they must have realised how this would sound.

Because $$$$$$$

If the option to skip grinding is desirable, then why is it not a universal option? Did they program in tedium just so they could provide a benefit for pre-orders. Oh well, I'll buy Evolve when it's dirt cheap a year from now then.

They put in a shitty progression system that never should have existed in multiplayer games JUST for preorders. Why can't rvery game be like CS:GO where the stuff that you can unlock are cool skins, instead of having to waste time grinding.

Welcome to the gaming industry: The only business where deliberately inconveniencing customers can be considered a product feature.

It's usually a model in F2P games but not with pre-orders. This would be a novel method to scam people with F2P methods on a non-F2P game. It is a bit in the vein of P2W though.

Well, regardless of what model it's attached to, it's the same terrible design concept: Create tedium, sell workaround.

Alternative title:

Those who don't pre-purchase "Evolve" forced to grind for 10-15 hours to unlock the majority of the content they paid for already.
