I was reading the Agony of Defeat article when a wave of nostalgia hit; that of playing games on my dads pc. I had a piece of paper with the DOS command lines needed to play them.

The ones I remember:
Wing Commander I and II
Commander Keen
Elevator Action
An activition Star trek point and click game. (Kirk: I'm so happy I could hug the world!)
A golf Sim
Silent hunter (I think)
Red Baron
Pour Le Merit
Math Blaster (Educational Game)
Wolfenstein 3d
Kings Field

Any one else remember those days/games?

*edit*

Oh yeah, and Mechwarrior. So awesome

Time Bandit on the Atari 520ST (And later on a compaq 486), fun times.
Albeit I hated that black hole stage. And I never got past the castle and space ship. Shame.

But oh man, the manual was awesome. Detailing every bit about the game. Why can't we have stuff like that now eh?

Also, Pushover is another fond gaming memory of mine. Never thought dominoes could break my mind so much.

Oh Atari, the reason I didn't mind going to my grandparents house because my uncle had one.

Battle tanks and Pitfall and asteroids!

Especially those last ones.

Oregon Trail
Cross Country Canada
Spellbound
Castle Adventure
Math Castle (I think that's what it was called; basically you defend you castle, which is protected by a force field, from evil invading aliens that are represented by math expressions, and you solve the expressions to destroy them.)
Operation Neptune
Sim City
Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego
Commander Keen
...to name a few.

It would be quite an endless list.

Everything from X-Com to Commander Keen to Wing Commander (armada, privateer, 3, 4), to Star Control, to Duke 1, 2, and 3D, but...

Suffice to say I played every major shooter since Catacomb Abyss, and Hexen was probably my favorite next to duke, every major RTS since Dune 2, and I prefered C+C to War2, every major TBS since Civ, and I liked MOM more than MOO, etc etc...

-Warlords II (Favorite old TBS)

-When Two Worlds War
-Dark Sun
-Ultima Underworld
-heck, Ultima series in general
-Dune II
-Lands of Lore
-Fantasy Empires
-Catacomb Abyss
-Lethal Tender

I remember playing B-17 at a friends house, and Blue Max was the English Translation of Pour le Merit, I had forgotten.

Sid Meier's Covert Ops
Was that the one with the spy that could infiltrate buildings by rewiring a circut board? I barely remember that...

*edit* OOps, messed up the quote function.
