I support Southampton FC, 'the Saints'. We've hit (very)hard times now but I grew up with Le Tissier, Lundekvam and Svensson in the team, I remember we used to beat Man U regularly when we were at home (6-3, 4-1, 3-1).

I'd say Manchester United are the best team at the moment(and unlike most of you I have actually been to seen them play this season

), here's why:
Tactically they are the most versatile team in the Premier League since they have the variety (and sheer depth of quality) of players to tweak and adjust their formation to suit the opposition if required.
Chelsea are having serious management and executive issues.
Aston Villa can take points off anyone but won't be competing for the top spot.
Ferdinand and Vidic, the best defensive partnership in the world right now. The platform that gives the midfield players the confidence to push forward and be creative.
Liverpool lack the depth of quality to sustain a title challenge. Gerrard is a brilliant player but too often it is him alone that has been the difference between draw-and-victory and defeat-and-a-draw; if he is sidelined for a month or two Liverpool will drop down the table. The same applies for Torres, the only world class striker in Rafa's squad. Compare this to ManU's Rooney/Tevez/Berbatov with Ronaldo on the wing, all world class. The sale of Keane exacerbates this problem as he does have the quality to deputise in their roles.

Utd will continue to be
the team to beat in seasons to come for these reasons:
Rooney - this guy is a monster, every time he gets the ball around the box he panics the opposition and his creative ability is what England sorely needed against Spain. Will be a force for Utd long after C.Ronaldo's star has faded.
Watch out for Tosic in the future, if/when Ronaldo leaves you can expect Tosic to fill the gap; he can play left or right wing, is very quick and (according to BBC web) can cross the ball exceptionally well, like a very fast Beckham (though he probably isn't quite
*that good yet)
The young players are all fantastic, such as the Da Silva brothers(left and right backs), so by the time the old heads of Giggs, Scholes, Van der Sar, Neville have all left their positions will be filled. Possebon, Anderson, Gibson and Tosic will all grow to play alongside Carrick, Hargreaves, etc. Johnny Evans (who has filled in for Rio Ferdinand of late) is another awesome young defender easily capable of replacing either Vidic and Ferdinand should injury require that.
