I don't think I've seen many people here discuss this topic, and seeing how the game is hours from release, perhaps this would be a worthy topic to tide people over these agonising ticks until they can play it?
And make no mistake, I do want to play MGS V. I just finished MGS 3, I played Ground Zeroes and MGS V looks right up my alley, especially in terms of story. It all looks good, the reviews look good and everything is pretty great overall, aside from the obvious Konami business.
Which bothers me a bit. I don't know if I should just enjoy the game at a friend's house or something, or wait until a discount. On the one hand, yes, I should buy it immediately since it's a safe bet at time of writing, and I should go out and support Kojima, but at the same time, the majority of the cut goes to Konami, who have been tone deaf for a while now.
It's an interesting situation, since I can't really recall any other time where there was seemingly equal reason not to purchase a game based on its publisher, but also to buy it due to its developer(outside of maybe Brutal Legend).
I don't know, what do you guys think? Is it just as simple as >you want it >> guy who made it is a good guy >> buy it, or are the other parts significant enough to warrant pause and consideration? Is Konami's reputation enough to otherwise to not buy MGS V? Is there at all a clear cut answer, or am I making a too big a fuss out of this?
