Preperation gaming

When a new sequel to a game comes out i oft feel compelled to play the original for lengthy periods of time this happened with halo 3 fallout 3 fable 2 and various other games that have a sequel.

But it seems this year im going to be doing this alot with a new Assassins Creed and a new Halo and most definately Mass Effect 2. But what i was wondering is if any of you have this weird syndrome of completing a game again before the sequel comes to prepare you for the sequel.

No. But when a film that looks good come sout I'll try to read the book either before or just after seeing it.

I totally have that. Whenever some sequal I've never heard of is remarked as really good I want to check out the originals first.

Sometimes, but it tends to be vague. For example, I played a lot of Gears of War in preparation for Resident Evil 5. I guess for me it's more about gameplay than the actual game (although I guess the only REAL way to prepare for Assassin's Creed 2 is to play the original.)

I do sometimes, if it was good enough and i can be arsed. I recently finished Beyond good and evil, so hopefully the sequel will be out soonish.

Not really, but I do have a weird syndrome of not playing a new game at first. I have to read the manual cover to cover first, almost like I'm nervous and doing stuff to put off playing it.

I'm definitely gonna have to do this for Mass Effect 2. I don't remember how the first game ended, to be honest.

If your save carries over to the sequel (Like Mass Effect) Then yes, I would replay it. Otherwise I just can't be arsed
