I'm a PC gamer, so most games are dirt cheap.

The real price should be £35, but I can't remember the last time I paid that even for a brand new game.

Im pretty sure the price will be something like 80 or 90 euros next gen / in the future.

Stupid people will still buy them...

I do understand people will buy them regardless, I am just curious when the price climb will stop.
It will only stop when people stop buying but that's not going to happen: gamers are probably the biggest suckers of any consumer group outside of new car buyers.

Even though I can afford it now, I've cut down on my buying habits. I rent now, so I only buy the really good games I see lasting a good long while.

I live in Kamloops, the very definition of a medium sized town in BC and I saw the new Tiger Woods game for $74.99 at rogers last night. Games either seem to be 60$ or 70$ here with MW2 being only 60 and ODST 70. Reach Is retailing at $60 also. But the other day, I got ME2 for $25 new at Future shop. I guessing that was just a sale or something.
Well for the first place.. rogers video... Both rogers and Blockbuster in my town jacks up the price for anything new. They are not a good place to go to.

I find The sony store, or The source offer the lowest prices over all. HMV every so often undercuts Eb games by about five bucks, then in some cases charges 10 bucks more.

walmart is a massive curve ball. I have seen new games undercut by almost 20 bucks, but then again i have seen them sell PS2 games for 15 more then brand new PS3 games.

Well there you go. I have 4 stores to pick from for new games. EB,GS Walmart and Zellers. In Vancouver there is tons of competition.
My brother lived in Vancouver for awhile and if you know where to go and who to talk to you could get most electronics for dirt cheap. When the Ipod Touch first came out he actually haggled one store down to $100. Wild I know...
Blockbuster is a complete rip off for new games (but I can find sweet deals for used there). One day I saw a copy of Fallout vanilla sitting beside a GOTY both going for the same price.

Again, as a Canadian, the only $70 game I've seen is MW2. Am I missing something?

But that's why I appreciate not buying a bunch of games. And whenever I do feel like spending money, I go for Steam sales and Indie games.
Same here, I also borrow and share games with my buddies. If it is a single player game, or is on the PSN we split the cost. (if you didn't know, the game can be downloaded to 5 consoles, as long as your account is used to download them, it is not needed to play the downloaded game.)
