So, story explaining a situation I'm in.
An Arts Gala for our school is coming up showcasing our various arts courses.
A group of about 10 people were in a Drama festival in the musical category. After the festival ended in October, the group was told to keep practicing the musical because they would be performing it in late January.
Recently, a group of 10 people that I am a part of put together a musical scene for a variety show.
Now people from group A are trying to force the people from group B (the one I'm in) to perform, because A forgot the material that they've been told repeatedly fgor 3 months to keep fresh.
So, here's the question: Despite the fact the newer material is more suited for the Gala, is it completely correct for A, who's had 3 months to practice but has not used the time to their advantage, to force B to perform? Or, is it right for a group told to prepare for 3 months to force a group with about a week of practice to perform at the Gala?
extras:
Issue one: I am NOT a good singer. The Gala is made to ATTRACT people.
Issue two: I'm not an acting type either. I'm improv and technical theatre.
3. They want us to perform because they forgot the material.
Issue 4: They've known that they would be performing for 3 MONTHS and now they want to give us a warning period of 3 WEEKS.
