My old printer had an issue where it printed all color pictures/text/etc. in a shade of magenta. That printer has been replaced with a newer different version. I try printing in color and now everything goes a green/blue color. Turns out the magenta cartridge doesn't want to work. It's full of ink as its brand new, the printer says it's working fine but for some reason it doesn't want to use it.

Any Ideas?

The printer is a 'HP Photosmart C5380 All-in-one' if needed.

Thanks.

Could be a problem with the computer, where it doesn't send the information to the printer properly.

However, I know nothing about how that stuff works so feel free to ignore me.

Urgh...Just got 2 HP printers come in to be repaired, it's like they are tormenting me today!

I'm guessing you've tried cleaning the heads/checked the cartridges are all correctly put in (all the stickers/protective bits sometimes stuck on them taken off?).

Printers - I hate them. :(

tried it. The ink is coming out of the cartridge so don't see any problem there (simple light touch and see if ink is left on finger test).

I hate printers too.

Try using a different computer with the printer, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that it connects via USB because it is new? [Instead of ya know, a serial port].

Hmm resort to plan b...Start yelling at it ^^ Got a C4180 in that isn't scanning or anything like that -.- With ink it's usually a case of blasting ink through the heads - or trying a new cartridge.

All the drivers (possibly utility software) up to date/installed?
