Also could you please read the following, it describes why the "Hot Coffee Lawsuit" happened, it wasn't just a case of someone getting a bit of hot coffee on themselves, it was a case of someone needed skin grafts because the coffee was at a tempurature to cause nasty burns.henritje said:it,s America what did you expect? they sue people over hot coffee (the drink not the infamous mod)
PS
I got it,s in Australia I assumed it was America because they pretty much sue everything there
Oh i forgot, you are now required to wear a full protective suit to play sportsBalimaar said:The claim alleges the school breached its duty of care, failed to provide adequate supervision or protective eyewear and allowed the students to stand too close together, and that Julia to hit two balls at once.
Because I assume you've been corrected on the Australian thing...henritje said:it,s America what did you expect? they sue people over hot coffee (the drink not the infamous mod)

I'm so glad someone did this, I was about to actually state something like it myself.DigitalSushi said:Also could you please read the following, it describes why the "Hot Coffee Lawsuit" happened, it wasn't just a case of someone getting a bit of hot coffee on themselves, it was a case of someone needed skin grafts because the coffee was at a tempurature to cause nasty burns.

Yeah, I mean I understand kids sometimes need to learn things the hard way to be safe. That's fine with me as long as the injury is pretty minor. Nothing like that to build character and stuff. But of course it's my job to enforce mouth guards let's say, because losing teeth is permanent, and it's my responsibility that I acknowledge.Blablahb said:But ffs America, please appoint judges to tell dumb people they're dumb instead of letting them have silly lawsuits.
Oh Warhammer 40k. Is there anything you can't do?Laggyteabag said:Thanks to whoever drew this, typing "Space Marine Tennis" in google, was a little weird...![]()
Well, allegedly there was two balls on the court at one time, but still, who in their right mind sues their daughters friend over a bit of horseplay during school sports? It's completely insane to sue over an injury that didn't even need a trip to hospital. She got a "bruised eye". That's nothing. I bet she played on afterwards.Sober Thal said:Playing a sport (as it's intended to be played) and getting injured wouldn't merit a lawsuit.
EDIT: Did anyone read the story, or do you all think this was just a normal sporting injury, and that the parents want a crazy amount of money?
