Mods don't like vs threads but I digress. I hate all sports games, there are no exceptions. So keeping that in mind, Football/Soccer video games probably have the least games sold(in the world of sports games) in North America.
if you hate sports games whats the point of posting?

So far I've kinda gathered that about 75% of you prefer Pro Evo to Fifa.
Do ya think this a fair statistic?

Pro Evo, though it is extremely easy to score goals, sometimes.

In Fifa what drove me absolutely insane is that when defending, your AI will position your defenders away from the attacker and simply make way for him, leaving only the player you manually control able to stop the attacker. Switching rapidly between your defenders just makes them all step back and fucking allow the guy a clear path on goal.

I'll take Football Manager over either, but for games where you actually play on the pitch, I've always been a FIFA player. Especially recently, the contest hasn't really been close.

1. 'Become a Legend' has been in the Japanese version of Pro Evo - Winning Eleven - for several years. If anyone did the stealing, it was FIFA.

2. While I agree that certain goals can be infuriating to concede (free kicks especially), you seem to be suggesting that the AI scoring against you is a weakness in the game. If they can't score from corners, free kicks or from passing through you, then what can they do?? And if applying pressure always worked there wouldn't be much of a game to play. Pro Evo has always been too easy in single player anyway. Only recently has it started to become challenging.
In reference to number 2, no the AI playing well is not a weakness. The fact that I can predict when a goal is coming or not as soon as a passing move starts is a weakness. There is no reason for the pressure button to not work altogether. And I don't mean pressing it and the player getting around my pressure, that's cool. I mean pressing it and my player still stands off from the ball and does nothing, or pressing it and my player decides to stand off until their's is in the box and then slides for no reason, conceding a penalty. As I said, I still enjoy the game, but when the game forces you to concede because of limitations that it places on the player, rather than the AI outplaying you, that's when I get a problem.

There are also the players who are just unplayable. Try tackling Messi when the CPU gets a strop on. It just won't happen.

As for the Be A Legend dealie, I remember now that the game that I remember first doing this was Libero Grande back on the PS1. That was late 90's I believe, so I reckon, though I could be wrong, that FIFA and PES cribbed off that.

I have always been a Pro Evo guy. But it seems this year that Fifa has raised the bar and sadly, Pro Evo, has not matched it.

Pro evo 4/5 were the best of that series. And Fifa makes full use of it's license. Pro Evo has always been better at giving the player a better feeling of actually playing football. the dynamics of the gameplay work better. But Fifa has always looked better.

At the end of the day, I don't either will ever die off. There are too many football game fans out there. And some will pay for both.

What I can say, is that if i'm going to visit mates at Uni, or going to someone's house for pre-lash. I think I'll always prefer to stick Pro Evo in and laugh for the entire time. My school yard games of football years ago were full of the imfamous wagging of the finger towards the ref.

For me, my love will always be directed at Pro Evo.
