Pro Evolution Soccer used to be the football game for the discerning footy connoisseur. But with the release of FIFA 09 the tables have turned. How did this happen?
Looking back at Pro Evo we see that the player names may not be accurate, hell even the teams had the wrong name but it didn't matter because the gameplay was fantastic. While FIFA had all the licences, player liknesses, all the cups it felt sluggish and innacurate.
What I'm interested in is how and why did die hard Pro Evo fans (I consider(ed) myself one until late last year) end up defecting to to FIFA?
Also, any ideas for our struggling friends at Konami in regards to Pro Evolution Soccer 2010?
It's extreme, but might it be best for them to reinvent the series again? International Superstar Soccer become Pro Evolution Soccer and was all the better for it. Is it time to hang up Pro Evolution Soccer's boots and change it to Awesome Football Game 2010? Or y'know, something gooder...
