So I've been wanting to get back into wrestling games, but unfortunately I've kind of been out of the loop. Seriously, the last one I played regularly was Raw 2 for the original X-Box, which I'll admit I loved despite it being a buggy mess with a career mode that was based mostly on luck and some very bizarre AI quirks, mainly because of its innovative (for its time, at least) Create a Wrestler system and that, once you got the hang of the controls, the matches really were a lot of fun. Except for the ladder matches. Seriously, what was up with those?

But hey, I'll freely admit that Raw 2 still was a big mess and I am really behind the times. So, which ones should I try? I've heard good things about Raw vs. Smackdown 2007, but would like to get a second opinion before I give it a shot.

Note that my console is an X-Box 360.

It's worth noting, as far as "Good" wrestling games go, not a single one has ever been better than WWF No Mercy.

If you were a fan around the same time I was (which I'm assuming is the case because of, well RAW 2.... I'm talking 1999-2000) you'll want to pick up WWE '13 and all of the DLC. It has the current roster plus a shit ton of the old Attitude Era guys, and I personally love it. At one point, between the roster in the game and the ability to download Created Wrestlers I had the whole WWF No Mercy roster. Basically all the WWE wrestling games are the same shit, it's just what Roster you want.

...Thats pretty much it. I suppose if you want variety you could pick up TNA iMPACT! or it's AAA Lucha Libre variety... they're basically the same game just different rosters. Neither of them are particularly great, but they're not bad either. Rumble Roses is also a pretty fun distraction in a pervy kind of way. In addition to pins and submission, you also have humiliations which adds another layer of ring pyschology to it.

Off the beaten path however, theres a PC game called Total Extreme Wrestling which is pretty fun. It's a text based simulation game where you run your own wrestling promotion (Basically, you get to experince what its like to be Vince McMahon). You sign guys to contracts, give gimmicks, control storylines, book matches, everything.
