I asked this on a non-specific 5-letter site with an exclamation point at the end of their logo, and have yet to yield any results. So here's more or less a copy and paste:
Ok. So I got a PC from a relative. It's an older model. 2000-2002. Gateway. Not exactly sure any specs. Basically, it came with the original Sims and that works totally fine. I'm simply curious how high that game is in complexity compared to other games released around that time or before. Just want an idea of what I can play on it. Like if Baldur's Gate 1-2, Neverwinter Nights, Starcraft 1, Curse of Monkey Island 1-2, Grim Fandango, Thief 1-2, System Shock 1-2, Sims 2, Planetside, Fallout 1-2, Planescape, Half-Life, Diablo 1-2, Rome: Total War, etc etc should run on my computer or not. Sorry I don't have more info, not very computer savy in the hardware aspect. Not looking for upgrade ideas, just ideas of what I have to work with before going out and buying games that I can't run. Any help would be largely appreciated.
