You know, I was thinking about making a thread about the overuse/misuse of the word "hate", but you beat me to it =0! I do agree with pretty much all your points, although like many others have/are going to mention, the people you are pointing this information out to is likely not to listen to reason. But hey! Someone had to do it! Im just glad you put it in such a thoughtful, non-anger provoking way(for the most part, people can nitpick).

All seriousness that's all most arguments end with, I've been meaning to make one of these threads recently but I am going to make a lot longer one

You do see the hypocrisy and irony (I'm not quite sure that's that right word for this, but you get the idea) in this post right?
Took the words straight from my mouth.

I agree with some of your points, but certainly not all of them.

I agree with all that, but that's mostly because it's just (un)common sense. The misuse/overuse of the word hate is one thing that really annoys me, though. Hate is strong. Hate is pure. Hate is dark. It is an emotional feeling towards something so intense that dislike is a mere pitiful thing by comparison. I find it annoying that people have managed to take the word hate and reduced it to being synonymous with dislike.

4) Quite obvious, but sadly necessary to point out. I'm curious about your job though...
It's hard to explain. I do anything and everything, but to best put it I deal with people in all forms and shapes. Much of what I do is community and charity service for reasons I won't indulge you with (and some people still don't consider those things jobs) but to best understand what I do all you need to know is my main focus is psychology and I have METT training (Micro expressions).

I love disagreements and I have an odd fondness for being shown the error of my ways, so may I ask what you don't agree with?

Lowen, I completely agree with you that you can't make things go away, but there is a fine line... Viral videos such as the infamous 2G1C need to just dissapear completely. I'm sure there's other categories I can think of too if I put some time and effort into it.
Although 2 girls 1 cup isn't exactly something I'd show an alien life form to explain our culture, and while I have a severe dislike for shock culture in general I'm often reminded by my art friends why stupid things exist.

George Carlin (one of my cherished idols, may he RIP) once said "it is the duty of the comedian to find the line and deliberately cross it", I often do and say things that have no apparent reason or purpose, but I realize I only do it to see how people would react, to see how far I can push things before the breaking point or sometimes to even see what the breaking point even looks like. Why? So I can know why I shouldn't cross it.

This is a really odd example, but stick with me here. Rough sex in pornography. Watching it makes me queasy and uncomfortable (this is coming from a guy who once laughed hysterically at a funeral), but I wouldn't have known I didn't like it until I saw it.... you know typing it out, it kind loses the point, but I stand by it anyway.

Sounds fun. Is there a job title that I could look up?

I'm technically a psychology researcher for a university, I also do counseling and casework for the Department of Community Services NSW. But I'm also unofficially a personality consultant and I'm trying to break into the industry as a top-tier adviser for human resources, but I'm way too young and it's really hard for people to take a 20 year old seriously.
