Problem With UT3 (help)

Alright well I don't know how many people here actually play UT3 but i have come across a bit of trouble regarding the latest update..I think. Before I go on, YES I have tried reinstalling the game AND re updating it.

Alright so here's the scoop, about 2 days ago I log onto the game to play a few rounds to relieve some stress and boredom. Now when I go to join a server I will either not connect at all or get "an updated version of UT is required to play online". so I go and download V1.3 along with the new map pack. Update goes well and restart my computer *had other updates done installing too*. I log back on to the game, in the top corner of the screen it says I have V1.3, so I proceed to join a server....and I get the same message again. I tried and tried and tried but nothing.

So...any help?

well, its not related to UT3, but the same thing is happening to me with Adobe Flash player. I downloaded the latest one like 50 times, don't know I lost count around 38, but everytime I go to a site that uses flash player it says I need the latest one.


I would suggest asking in the official UT3 forums if you haven't already

I have searched their forums and i cannot find anything of use. It's just a real piss off when you update a game and it says that you need to update even though it knows its updated....

...no matter how much my computer beat the minimum requirements it wiped my hard drive twice.

i'm not trying to be an ass here, but how can installing a game wipe your HD?

did the installation install some sort of DRM (or whatever) that didn't work right, hosed your windows install and force you to reinstall? cuz that would make some sort of sense.

the next time you get that error message, just toss in your rescue / boot disc and fix your operating system from there.

again, not to be an ass, but that sounds like a problem with your computer (more specifically with your HD).

with the exception of that one (insanely stupid) boot.ini "patch" eve-online had, games dont change a hard drive's boot loader or it's MBR (master boot record). (which is what your computer couldn't find when it rebooted.)

backup discs = good. saved my ass sooooo many times.

and for future use - FDISK works wonders for repairing the MBR in a pinch. there's probably a ton of wikis / tutorials on FDISK roaming around, but its good knowledge to have.

sorry to bump this but seriously...I really would like some help regarding this as it is driving me nuts. Reinstalling the game or the patch doesn't do jack, cmon theres gotta be somebody that knows something.

Sorry to interupt but i download mod tools for v1.1 but i dont no how to check what my ut3 version is running so i go it a week ago i only have the install patch i was hoping with the mod tools i could make a game mode called "NECRIS ZOMBIES" were i team is locked is a room and the other have no weapons but can jump higher stronger impacthammes damage kills 3 hits second fire insted of a EMP it stuns the player BUT I NEED V1.1 plz tell me what it is then that would make a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very HAPPY PERSON !!!! : ) : ) : ) : )

It's a server problem, the servers are not updated, and that is most likely the "default" warning message.
