As the title states, I am having an issue shaprening my kukri.

The curve and thickness of the blade is making it tough to sharpen. That and it for some odd reason doesn't want to take an edge on the inside of the curve (the outside of the curve closer to the tip has a decent edge now). The closer to the handle, the less it wants an edge.

So Escapist knife owners, I ask if you know any helpful tips to get this thing sharp.

What are you sharpening with, perhaps try doing it by hand with a whetstone if using a grinder? I know for damn sure my knife sharpener in my garage isn't precision enough for a curved blade like this. My friend owns a kukri, ill ask him how he does it for you, until then try a whetstone. Go buy one somewhere, or a hand help knife sharpening instrument.

I got a sharpener off amazon. It has the wedge sharpener like kitchen knife sharpeners have and a small diamond (industrial, not the kind that is worth money) rod. I got my katana very sharp using it and my bowie fairly sharp. I've tried a regular whetstone on it, but to no avail.
