I really wish they would go back to CoD2 bashing and the original system. Who is with me with that? It is still a one hit kill but has a ridiculously short range that if you do get a bash kill you so deserved it.
There is a perk for this, it is called flack jacket... Basically what flack jacket does is make you a superhuman tank to explosives. The only way you can die from an explosive is if you are already hurt or the damn think is stuck to you.Octorok said:I'll deal with the car first. It's too fast to hit, really. I've hit a few, but when it's coming at you, winding around, you'll be lucky to get it and survive. It results in you getting blown up, essentially through no fault of your own. You didn't give the guy his killstreak - you just couldn't outrun the little bastard and it ruined your flag capture, or bomb plant.
The Claymore on the other hand, is overpowered beyond belief, uses up no Perk slots (just an Equipment one where it outstrips everything else by a mile and a half) and you get one every time you Spawn.
I third this. The Wykydtron said:Yeah I agree with the broken spawn system, the knife and second chance, don't know what your problem is with the pro perks they are perfectly valid and if your constantly getting Claymore'd use Hacker. Simple
Oh and the leveling grind is complete bullshit i'll agree with you there
...except in private lobbies. Nuketown is a horrible map for pubs but it's wonderful for Tomohawk only games against friendsOctorok said:Why do people tell me that they like the maps? I like the maps! Except for Nuketown, that's a disgrace. Small map =/= fun.

Right, the choice to use Flak Jacket. But you shouldn't have to use a Perk because of something in the game. It should be about your preferred playstyle. Recall Stopping Power? Nearly damn well everyone used it, because if you didn't, you couldn't kill the other players before they got you.nofear220 said:Snip't
I didn't really research combat roles. I just know about them in multiplayer FPSes from years of personal experiences.TerribleAssassin said:Snip't
Ah, true. In much smaller games, and especially the tense ones like Tomahawk only, it'll be fun. But in the MP *proper* it's just a mess of spawns that'd turn even the nicest Saint into a sandle-lobbing jelly of rage.MiracleOfSound said:...except in private lobbies. I meant it in the kindest possible way, the game does need a lot of fixingOctorok said:Thanks very much.... I think...Megacherv said:It may be whining, but it's deserved and mostly true.Turtleboy1017 said:All I read is... whine whine whine.
For the spawns, I play demolition. For the explosives, I either just deal with it or throw on flak jacket. For the knives... well I never let anyone get in close enough to knife.
As soon as I unlocked the AUG and L96A1 I touched no other gun. Do I care? Not really. And also the pro perks kind of suck in general, only useful one I actually put on is sleigh of hand pro.
Just play the barebones mode or something if you're sick of the "innovations" they have made.
Either that or don't play it at all.
This is exactly why I don't play the COD games as they are just casual arcade FPSs. If I'm supposed to play the game for 100+ hours online, it better have deep, hard-to-master gameplay, COD does NOT have that. How could COD be the gold standard for online shooters when it doesn't even have something as basic as a proper spawning system? And, you forgot to mention health regen, that's a big no-no for online shooters as well.Octorok said:Huge snip
Why is health regen a big no-no? Surely it's just a matter of preference?Phoenixmgs said:This is exactly why I don't play the COD games as they are just casual arcade FPSs. Every game takes skill to master. Sure, COD has many annoying skill equalisers but if you go up against a team of organised, experienced players then of course you are going to need to be skilled to beat them.Phoenixmgs said:I hope you have a PS3 or PC because the 360 has no hardcore shooters. Metal Gear Online is the most old-school, innovative, hardcore shooter this gen. MAG is the best console FPS this gen. Warhawk takes a great deal of skill to play as well. None of these games have moving spawns or health regen. And, hopefully SOCOM4 ends up turning out well.
You'd be quicker getting a claymore to explode by flashing your tits than throwing a stun/flash grenade, those things don't work 90% of the timeAjimboB said:I agree with a lot of these, but not with the bit about the claymores. There's a lot of ways to avoid them, including using flashbangs and stun nades, which disable equipment, or using hacker, which spots equipment through walls. If someone on the other team is using Hacker (and trust me, at least one person always is), with some decent communication the entire enemy team will know where each and every claymore on the map is. Add to that that fact that most people who use claymores place their claymores to guard a position that they're sitting at, and the claymore basically becomes a huge red sign that says "I'm right here, please lob a grenade into this room."
People only get killed by claymores when the claymore is well placed, and when the person in question wasn't careful enough to avoid the claymore. When you learn the spots that people normally place claymores, and you're more careful about how you visit those places, you're much less likely to die by claymores.
Are they powerful? Sure. In fact, unlike most equipment, when you place down a claymore at the perfect angle, and in the correct spot, you're almost certain to get a kill with it, but it does take some skill to use claymores effectively, and even when used properly, there are still ways of avoiding them. I really don't see them as overpowered at all. Also, they're great for balancing out those damn RC cars that everyone and their mom seems to use.
