Problems with Halo3:ODST

I got ODST this morning and I am getting a disk read error during the second loading screen after the main intro cutscene, I have checked and others have got the exact same problem at the exact same time.
Has anyone with this problem managed to find a solution which doesn?t involve getting another bl**dy copy?

Well you wouldn't have to pay for it. Bring it in, say 'Hey, this doesn't work. I want a new one', and BAAM! New copy to try.
Though to be honest I haven't heard of this problem, so I don't think I can offer much more advice then that.

I ordered it online so it would be an ar*ehole so send it back, and its not my 360, i tried a dozen other games and they all worked including the second disk that came with ODST as did some others i spoke to about it.

I've heard its affecting a fair few copies but with 3 you should get at least one that works hopefully anyway, this exact same thing happened when Halo 3 came out so suppose we should of seen it coming.

I actually bought 2 copies for friends... so there is a chance that if one fails, that's one more I have to take back.

huh?? you are not planning to make a lawsuit against bungie are you??? this seems simmilar to the thread of the guy who sued because his Halo 3 wouldn´t work on the 360

Yeah, the postal service is really hard to do these days.

Besides, the Escapist isn't for tech support. Take it to the Bungie forums or something.

Mine deleted all my progress when i was two levels away from finishing, all my achievements were still registered , the map was still open, all doors unlocked. But i still had re do all the previous missions.
