Yes, this is a duplicate thread. I accidentally mis-clicked and placed it in the off-topic discussion. Sorry about that. Anyway, onto the actual post.

So, my 360 has been a tad more red lately. No, not red-ringed. Red-screened.

This just started happening about 3 hours ago. Believe or not, that picture is from Fable 3. This happens on both my copy of the game and my brother's. On Super Street Fighter 4, it isn't red, but the quality is a lot worse. Reach and Alan Wake are both red.

However, when I try playing Limbo or Scott Pilgrim (arcade games. No discs required), nothing happens. Because of this, I think it may be a disc drive issue, though from what I've read online, it isn't one many people have (I couldn't find anything on it).

I don't know what the issue is. None of my friends do either, so I thought I'd try asking you guys. So, any idea what might be wrong here? I'm still under red-ring warranty, but not normal warranty, so if need be, I suppose I could try to force a red-ring as a last resort. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's doing it with other games as well, just out of the blue I assume you have an HDTV yes? Unplug the HDMI cable and try digital outs and see what happens. Best I can think of off the description.

Couldn't you try unplugging everything to do with the 360 and then plugging them back in?
That was one of the first things I tried. Nothing.

Make sure that if you plugged it into another television, the same thing doesn't happen. If another TV doesn't show up red, then it's not the X-Box but the TV itself. If it IS the X-Box, it's still got a bug that is problematic and probably should be called in to the X-Box help center, where you will probably get a man called Bob with a thick Indian accent.

Once Bob tells you everything he can from his card, you will sigh in frustration and attempt to send out your X-Box for repairs, finding out that you could probably get a new X-Box for less than the cost of repairs. Go figure. If this is unacceptable, though, you could always chuck the character console and re-roll as a ranger buy a PS3.

I'm not an expert, but if that didn't fix it I'd be more worried about the television. That is assuming it does that with say a DVD player or whatever else you have hooked up to it. If not, ship that 360 back to Microsoft.

Something I should have put in the original post was that I tried a DVD and it was fine. Its only games. And like I said, Arcade games work fine, only the games that require discs are screwing up. If it was a TV issue, I think the Arcade games would be affected too. Nor is my Wii having any issues. Though I guess it wouldn't hurt to test it on another TV. I shall go do that now.

EDIT: Same thing on a different TV.

You might get a price check on what it's gonna cost to fix the 360 then, and if it's high just invest in one of the new Slims or something.

Worst part about all this is how much money I've just recently put towards my 360.

$90 120 gig harddrive
$20 3-Month Live Subscruption
$80 Fable 3 Collectors Edition

In the past 3 days, I've spent almost $200, so I couldn't afford a new Box at the moment anyway. Ugh, irony. I'll probably end up calling tomorrow and seeing the cost. If its more than I'd like, I just may look into the new model.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Just figured out the problem. E74 error. Apparently, it was just an unusual color for me (red, as opposed to black and/or green, which explains why I couldn't find anything about it). I got the warning, and I'm relieved that its covered in the same way the RROD is. Again, thank you all for your help.

Pour petrol on it and set it on fire? Tends to fix the dammed things. Send it back to the firey pit from wence it came!
