So something interesting has happened to my Mass Effect 2 discs...and only my ME2 discs. Recently rings got into the first disc of my original copy of ME2 which at random points make my xbox pop up with "disc is unreadable" warnings. Thinking that I had simply played it too much or left it running too long, I went out and bought another copy since they're fairly cheap at my walmart.
Well same thing happened to the first disc of my new copy and I have been extremely careful to ensure that it was never left in the player. It works for a while and then an error message will pop up and say "disc is unreadable." The wierd thing is this doesn't happen to any of my other games or movies. I leave DVDs in there for hours and played ME1, Fable 2, and Mirror's Edge with as much vigor and none of them have come up with rings. I don't know if this could have anything to do with it, but I have laid my xbox down since getting these rings instead of standing it up.
Has anybody else had this problem? Is there anything I can do to fix my discs? Anything I can do to make sure it doesn't happen again? A friend said I should try furnish polish on the discs, good idea or bad?
I really don't want to buy another copy, if I have to I will, but I don't want to end up with another unplayable disc. Help please!
