Problems with skins

So I recently downloaded some skins for TF2 off of FPS Banana. A couple weapon skins and some player model skins. I followed the instructions they gave but my skins don't show up in the actual game. They're in the right folder but I can't use them. Can anyone lend me a hand to get them to work?

It depends on the server, it has something to do with sv_pure if its set to 1 custom skins won't work. Have you tried creating your own game and seeing if they appear?

I've been doing it in my own server but I'll check that sv_pure thing.

Let's see they are currently sitting in the team fortress 2/tf/materials/models/player models folder or weapons folder.

Well I looked up a video and I didn't read the instructions well enough earlier. You're supposed to save to the desktop then merge the tf folders. But thanks Ollie on the tip for showing everyone with pure
