Problems with Verifying Game Disk

Hey guys, I'm having a problem and I can think of no better place to ask this than here.

Anyways, I just got a new, kick-ass laptop off of Newegg the other day. It's amazing, and according to that can you run it website it can play Crysis 2 on full settings, but sadly it doesn't have a CD drive. :/

My friend showed me a way to put games onto my computer through this program called ImgBurn, so I did that to some of my games and installed them on my new laptop. Everything was going find and dandy until I installed The Sims 3. The game started up just fine, but once you got past the intro and everything the game told me that the CD could not be verified, and the game shut down. I have a legitimate copy of the game, so I'm thinking that using ImgBurn was the problem here. If anybody can tell me how to get this to work I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

All I can think of is Sims 3 might be run through Origin now, and you would have to install that to verify the game.

I'm of course not sure about this, since I don't play the Sims, nor do I use Origin.

It doesn't even have a DVD drive?

I guess you could try getting an external DVD drive and see if that works. Though you would need to check if it was compatible with your laptop.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it would work with games though. I've only started getting into PC gaming for a month or so myself.

Are you SURE it hasn't got a DVD drive? I find that hard to believe if its a "kick-ass laptop".

Also, if you don't have a dvd drive how are you getting images of the games to mount? I don't want to accuse you of piracy here, but this seems a bit suspicious to me.

If your Laptop can take a DVD drive then put one in, otherwise you just shot yourself in the foot. I suggest using Steam at this point since then you don't need CDs.

Yes, it is an epic fail that I bought a laptop that I planned to game on and didn't check if it had a DVD/CD drive. I'm the poster child for absent-minded. xD

Now, to answer everybody's questions:

Download a program like daemon tools.

Yes, I already have Daemon Tools on here, so I don't think that is the problem. Thanks anyways though.

I would just use an external DVD drive.
Also, if you don't have a dvd drive how are you getting images of the games to mount? I don't want to accuse you of piracy here, but this seems a bit suspicious to me.

I have other computers in the house that I'm mounting the games on, and using the home network thing to get them on my new laptop. Haha I'm not pirating anything. I constantly yell at my friends for pirating actually. :3

I'm also probably going to shell out some money for an external drive. It is my fault for not checking to see if it had a disk drive, so yeah, I'll take this as a lesson for the next time. ^_6

Yes, there was a program called Origin that popped up during the install, though I thought it was something unrelated to the game. I was installing other things at the same time.
