I'm very much looking forward to Battlefield 3, however there is one part of the recommended system specs that I am wondering about. You see, it says you need a Quad-Core processor with at least 2.0 GHz. I have a Dual-Core with 3.0 GHz. What I'm wondering is, does the number of cores make much of a difference or am I fine with the processor I have now. If not, do you know of any (preferably cheap) Quad-Core processors that meet this requirement?

That's a 6 core variant of what you have. I'm not sure where you like so I did a link for the Uk and the US, if you live else where I'm sure you can find it.

I think that is one of AMD's best CPUs and turbo's to 3.7 Ghz. That should be more than enough.

To be fair any new AMD chip should be enough, if you want to spend less go for the x4 as it's just a quad core.

EDIT I have heard mention that some users needed a BIOS update for the new CPUs, you will have to search if your motherboard needs one too or not.
Thanks, so I'm taking it as a yes that the number of cores makes quite a difference?
