So, I was given two projects to do over the summer 1)a world history assignment full of current events, but this starts in a few days, and 2)to read the Plague by Albert Camus. The problem comes in because I procrastinate. So I ask, Escapists, What do you do when you procrastinate? And what do you do to stop procrastination?

I structurally procrastinate in a way. I'm actually doing it right now. I'm reading a few pages of the Plague and then checking the forums, then going back to reading.

Well first thing...Don't post on the Escapist about a thread on procastination * semi-joke.

If the Internet is not necessary to your research, don't use it. In fact, go somewhere where there is no Internet. Second, do a task/reward system. For every chapter you read, award yourself about a 30 minutes break. (Oh you're already doing that. More work and less breaks are encouraged).

Lastly, ask a friend or family member to remind you to do your work. Annoyance works in mysterious ways. (Not makin allusions to gods).

Do you share a wireless router? If not, shut it off. If you can't shut off your router disconnect your wireless card. If you have wired internet, unplug it and wrappup the wire. (Edit: Ninjaed)
