Procrastination

I draw the fine line between procrastination and substitution. I'm not particularly lazy, but I don't like the idea of having to do something, so instead, I do something else. For example, I should have been renovating my bathroom, but instead, I'm building a robot.

I guess I'm procrastinating a lab assignment for my Computer Science class. I'm supposed to be making a Java program. It's due Thursday.

Does it count as procrastinating if I can'tunderstand this shit so I'm here wasting time instead?

I don't tend to procrastinate for to long. I always remind myself that I'm going to have to do it anyways before it's to late. Can't actually recall any significant procrastination.

That's not to say I don't procrastinate. I do quite often, just not for significant periods of time. Like right now I'm putting off my Mass Effect 2 review until later. Though that's also because I can't think of a good introduction that doesn't just parrot the first 5 minutes of the game.

Come to think of it, the worst procrastination I can recall was my Osmos review. Wrote the first few paragraphs one night, then I didn't touch it for about two weeks.

Does it count as procrastinating if I can't understand this shit so I'm here wasting time instead?

If you can get help from someone rather than wasting your time, then it is procrastination.

If you can't get help from someone and can't do it on your own, you're not really procrastinating. You're just fucked.

I've been procrastinating for three years in getting a doctor to check out this lump on my neck. Damn the profit-driven American healthcare system.
