Ok, so I'm taking a math test, and there's a problem, I'm enjoying it. Now I'm not saying it's wrong to enjoy school, I'm a fan of history and science myself. But if I can go ahead and dislike one subject, one subject, it's math.
So anyway; I'm enjoying it because I just picked up the third "Professor Layton" game, and I'm adapting it to fit the subject. As I'm working on a problem, I'm hearing the puzzle theme from the first two games playing in my head; and when I solve it, I hear the good ol' professor say "A true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved." I know that most of the puzzles in the game aren't math problems but who cares? I see the problem as a puzzle and I go from there. Please don't judge me, it actually helps.
So the whole math and school thing isn't the point, it's just my experience/example. My question to you is: Have you ever had this experience; using a video game to help with a real world problem? If so, what's your story?
