A weird curiosity came over me just now, and I want to know more about the specifics of you people's avatars. Like what are yours from? Why did you decide on them? Do you change them a lot? etc etc etc.

I have a few cool/funny ones saved, mostly cropped from cool wallpapers and things, but they just don't feel right, you know? I have this weird thing where what avatar I have makes it feel like the tone of my posts are different. That's why right now I just have this plain, black square. Makes it easiest to be myself. Will probably change many times down the line though.

I also read posts in the voices of the avatars if I know the characters, every time. Some more serious or political threads can be fucking hilarious.

It's Zim from Invader Zim, obviously. I'm fond of the little guy.

It's me as a friendly looking cartoon. I drew it myself.

I like the thought of having my own little custom made avatar.

It's an orc from a little open-source strategy game I was slightly involved with way back.

I use him because it's a nod to the first internet community I was involved in. Plus I like his grumpy face.

Also, he has sweet sideburns, like I do some of the time.

My avatar is usually Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z. I've changed it to other things on occasion but then I get people saying they don't recognise me and I should change it back :S

I've had this particular avatar for a couple of months now and I'm happy with it.

My avatar is the living embodiment of badassitude, explosions, and LOUD, CAPITAL LETTERS, Mr. Torgue!

I change it whenever I want to be someone different in forum games where the poster is their avatar. I just recently bought the Borderlands 2 dlcs, hence the current badassitude.

Back when I posted on the MtG forums, I used the my favorite card's art, [mtg_card=Wyluli Wolf], which was part of their standard selection of avatars. When I won a custom avatar, I didn't really have any desire to change the pic to something else, so I just inverted the colors and kept it as my avatar ever since.

Geralt of Rivia, from the Witcher books and video games. Chose it because, not only are both Witcher games among my favourite games of all-time, but Geralt is my second favourite character in fiction (right behind Conan the Cimmerian). So, it seems appropriate as an avatar.

My is a gif of Queen Chrysalis transformation who I think she is pretty cool. Granted I did had that as my gif when she first appear because several other users had use her as their avatar aswell and I prefer to be one of the few than being among the popularity.

I never change mine (excluding holiday variants). It's an avatar made for me by [user]Sleekgiant[/user] and I've had it since 2010.

I just asked the Avatar Store [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Avatar-Store-New-and-Second-Hand] to make me an avatar where Zapdos encounters Team Rocket and leaves an Escapist "e" scorch mark.

Mine is Madoka Kaname from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica. This particular scene is from the films.

I chose it because, well, Madoka Magica is one of my favorite anime, and Madoka is one of my favorite characters.

I have been changing my avatar quite a bit recently, though, but for now I'm content with this.

Anyone who has known me for longer than five minutes knows that my avatar changes depending on my mood (and/or what I'm obsessing over at that given moment).

Currently, my avatar is Jade Harley from Homestuck - or to be more specific, God Tier Jade (lovingly nicknamed 'Dog Tier' by the fandom, hence my title).

I chose it because I'm really into Homestuck at the moment, and I adore Jade. c:

Mine is a drawing in process, has a lot of background stuff as to its meaning which I don't need to get into. The left side is based on sephiroth and the right is based off lightning. I quite like the unfinished version though, so I mightnt go and change it

Mine is a llama. Duh. I like how it looks. When i registered i needed an avatar, opened a folder called "7000 avatars" and selected it. Because i like how it looks and it one of those that arent... well...
