I just mentioned this site in another thread and realized I hadn't seen anyone mention it here. So in case you don't know, Project Gutenberg [http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page] is a site that compiles works of literature that have become public domain (The Art Of War being an example, as mentioned in the other thread). I've been using the site for years now, I'm sure I can't be the only one (because no one is ever the only one, right?). I just thought I'd do a little community service here.

I guess this is kind of advertising, but since the site is non-profit, it shouldn't really matter.

Awesome, that's actually kind of cool.

The same thing should be done with movies. Not sure how many are Public Domain, but you never know...

Gutenberg is good, and Google books can offer some pretty good selection as well, including old periodicals. Hard to search through GBooks though.
