A statement has been given out by the Project M dev team that announces that PM will cease further development and the team has disbanded. A pretty unusual development as they were recently releasing art for the next release. The site has been cleaned and even downloads have been removed. Sad to see a fan project like this get dropped, especially since they had a few new characters in development.
There's some murmuring going around that this may have been due to legal action by Nintendo, and the mention of an attorney on the announcement is suspicious, but the devs have been keen to deny those rumors. There's also some word going on that the devs have another project in the wings, but again it's mostly just rumors.
