You obviously never played through to the very end... The final boss fight was an exercise in sadomasochism.pulse2 said:I liked Prototype, probably as much as I like Infamous.
However, I can see where Infamous 2 has revved the engine, I'm curious to see if Prototype 2 will just be a replica of 1 with a few more features or an entirely new game.
The problem with Prototype is like hulk, you become over powered, if there is one thing I can't relate to, its an over powered hero or villain, because no longer do you fear anything or feel a sense of acheivement when you defeat something stronger and bigger than yourself, you just feel like they were flies. Yes, that was fun in Prototype, but it got old quickly.
If you didn't play perfectly from the get-go, you were faced with a respawn that left you massively underpowered and immediately getting beat on while you try and harvest at least SOME of the military personel before they get wiped out by the crossfire of tentacle hell.
OT: I think the teaser is Prototype2... and I'll be faced with a dilemma because of it. Buy inFamous2 or Prototype2(or simply rent both)?
I loved the story, power progression, collection hunting (that actually boosted your power as you collected more), and ability to affect the story through your choices of the former. As well as the story, combat, smooth travel, and multiple gameplay styles available (run in, tentacles flying... or move from soldier to soldier, on up the (food)chain of command until you found your target) in the latter.
Both were certainly worth playing, and what bugged me in one was fixed in the other, equally. Here's hoping that they BOTH learned from their mistakes, and we can get ANOTHER contest hosted by Yahtzee. Heheheh.
