Prototype or Infamous. A buy?

I just got a ps3 and these are the two games I've heard compared a lot and have heard a great deal about. I usually don't care for story i usually just run around killing things or anything pertaining to that. I typicaly care more about controls concepts etc when it comes to a game and enjoy free roaming or challegnes. Anyone have any advice for me seeing as how i only have enough money for one of them

Prototype is all about killing in different and over the top ways/infamous allows you to make moral choices and is about running around and doing challenges........

So realy it's up to you do you want to just kill and be a badass in a slightly boring city or explore a interesting and unique city make choices that effect the game while collecting and doing challenges.

Well, I prefer InFamous to Prototype a lot, so I would recommend that.

Still, both games have their own strengths.

InFamous' strength lies in it's story and setting.

Prototype only has one strength, and that is that you'll have fun dicking around for about 3-4 hours. Then you have to play the shitty story mode or the repetitive side missions for variety, all the while trying to ignore the fact that it has ass controls.

Well I personally think infamous is all around better made than prototype, but they're both fun.

Okay, that's just not true. Dicking around gets more epic and more varied as you do the story missions, most of which are great fun.
That being said, I haven't played InFamous, so I can't compare them.

EDIT: Apparently InFamous has a better story and Prototype is gorier and has more ways to horribly kill people, so that seems to be the verdict.

I've only played Infamous but it's really, really good. It's story was damn good and the characters, whilst annoying at times, were pretty fun and quirky. The combat wasn't too bad either.

I hear Prototype is just dicking around.

There isn't enough in Prototype for more than a couple of hours entertainment when it comes to dicking around, and the story is a chore.
