No fucking way. I have like 50 gigabytes left on this thing. I'm not gonna download EVERY SINGLE PSN DEMO EVER so I can install prototype. Though, this seems to be a rare problem so maybe it won't happen to me.

Still, this is a pretty big problem no matter how many people this has happened to. I mean, what about the person who has a PS3 and no internet or 56k?

Well, I'm glad that there wasn't any PS3 Prototypes in stock when I went to the store! This doesn't seem like a good start for a very hyped up game.

I have 18 friends that Each have PS3's, and a copy of Prototype, and they haven't had any issues yet. Maybe this panic is much more miniscule than we are making it. As I've said earlier, I have had no problems as of yet.

No problems on the 360, sucks for you PS3'rs.
well adleast we dont have the 8 year old yanks screaming over our mics ill take buggy games over that any day
So you would rather play a broken game then listen to "8 year old yanks" for about 5 seconds before you mute them?
But who really cares about what console you plays games on? They all do the same thing.

Hahaha, has anyone seen "Joystiq's" report on this?

"...use this workaround, provided by Activision support: change the amount of free hard disk space on your system by 700MB. This can be done by either installing another PS3 game (like Infamous), downloading game demos (like the Infamous demo), or downloading and removing videos from the hard drive (like videos of Infamous)."

This is probably true, but I was going to pick up Prototype later today and now I'm thinking I won't to avoid any issues at all. I think I might just get inFamous and wait a while for Prototype, when there's a proper fix out there if needed.

Good call. inFAMOUS beats out Prototype IMO.

I hate rushed games, theyre so well rushed
They didn't rush it. They moved the premiere from 2008 to 2009 just to work on the game longer.

Put a movie on a thumbstick and copy it over? But seriously this is a pretty bad problem... Oh and jeez man 50gb?! Do you realize how much space that is? I bet your could download all the demos and still have room left over.

Actually question: Who here has been affected?

Didn't Ratchet and Clank have this same bug?

Oh, get off your high horse. Hazy even has both games, or so it appears, so I'd say he's just stating an opinion; hardly starting a flame war.

Why does the PS3 have that stupid installation feature, anyway?

"Hey, these pricks aren't going to buy very much of our stuff..."
"What?! Make them suffer!"
"How?"
"Well, let's give them huge storage on a disk... and then force them to wait for all that data to tansfer to their harddrive!"
"Genius!"

I think it's because Blu-ray can't be read fast or something like that. If it didn't install, the game would have a low framerate, I'm pretty sure.

how else would you explain this?

this seems like something hard to miss
I blame PS3's architecture. Because honestly? Prototype should be a PC and Xbox 360 game.

*Hits you across the back of the skull with a lead pipe*

IF you install it it's the same as installing a game on the PC...

Wait my post is missing something, oh yeah a barded insult at the end of it.

Retard. (Note this was obviously done in just so don't get your knickers in a twist)

But year for the same reason you have to install on a computer.
I thought consoles were supposed to be Plug and Play. You know, you insert a DVD/BR-D and play.
