If you really want to judge this game because of its graphics? Go die in a fucking fire, seriously.

Its people like you who degrade the entire video game industry because you'd rather have prettier pixelated ass then an actual fun time. Of course developers want money, and if the majority want pretty graphics their going to give them pretty graphics. The problem is that game development works on a budget and if you give people top of the range graphics its going to come out of somewhere.

Oh so it's out huh? I have no incentive to play this game. Bad enogh he looks like Altair and Star Killers love child, his jeans are so tight you can see his veins through them.

Pass.
Cool, i guess were judging book's by their cover's now.
No we're not, I am. That and past experience withthis design choice. Ain't you that guy who was die-hard for this game? How's it treating you?
I'm pretty sure that it was Booze Zombie who was all gung-ho about the game.
-shrugs- perhaps but I remember his user name.

It's SO HARD! OMG I have never been so frustrated in trying to get in a fkn tank!!! OMFGGGG
Are you being sarcastic? Because if you aren't, then you're supposed to kill the guys guarding the tank. And it should be hard to get into the tank or else you are incredibly overpowered.
NO no no. During that mission, when he is going from outpost to outpost, I thought I could board him. Turns out you can't.

because you can become people, shapeshift, do insane parkour stunts, varied missions, decent story and characters, and a whole lotta shit on screen. those are all great reasons. oh yeah, troll, go home
I've played 3hrs and so far Shapeshifting is only really used to get to a certain point to shapeshift into something else to get a key, not exciting, insane parkour stunts....ummm not really i'd rather play a 3rd person mirrors edge, i don't really count matrix jumping in the category "insane parkour stunts", missions i doubt would vary much, story is interesting i'll give you that, people on screen don't count for much when they are just pedestrians getting in the dam way of me combo'ing on a hunter.

So far if your going to implement shapeshifting try and have more of an indoor enviroment type set up, where stealth would be a key element, other than that its a nice way of just reskinning your character.

The variety of powers isn't original, (i'll reference this later), but if i had such abilities wouldn't you be trying alot more creative things, like saying going around doctor octopus style, making a couple of clones, anything really.

The game simply has the feeling of a spiderman clone, they tried making a story where you play as venom, and giving it a backstory, and then slapping some other characters into the mix (captain america = shield, wolverine = claws, hulk = hammerfist, and some weird sword arm which is eh).

I'd rather play as Spiderman in web of shadows really.

note, OP really isn't trolling, hes just trying to formulate discussion, just because you dislike his opinion, doesn't mean hes an auto troll.

im really looking forward to this game and have been looking forward for quite some time now, i was originally crazy for infamous, but since that took the weird way of videogames and became an exclusive ps3 i started looking forward for this, now prototype wont get out in denmark before tomorrow, but it looks fun if a bit annoying later on when everything turns red, anyway i pre purchased it expecting nothing more than a fun if a bit stupid game and judging from all the reviews and comments thats what ill get.

A game where I can where my hood, jump off the empire state building, and slam my fists into the ground so hard on impact, that giant black spikes pop out of the ground, is a good game in my opinion.

Look at the obvious bias in his post then look at how he responds to the first commenter by telling them that they must not have much experience to think the game is fun. A troll through and through.

All this game is to me is a run of the mill sandbox game that will have the easily impressed people saying 'COOOOL' and 'WOOOOAAAH' alot, a game needs a good story aswell.
oh and you will get bored eventually then you'll go to your next sandbox game, theres a few good reasons why people still play the old gta's and ff's....storyline being a big one.
The point of an open-world game is to do whatever you want; not to have a great story. However, there are some exceptions like Morrowind. Story takes a backseat to free choice in an open-world game. From what i heard none of the GTA's had a good story except IV; and it was average at best.

Yeah this just seems like trolling. You obviously have a biased opinion. Well, the game is fun. One of the most fun games I have ever played. It's not just explosions by the way and I seriously doubt that you have even played it.
Having a different opinion doesn't make him a troll, and of course he has a biased opinion, how can you have an unbiased opinion. Why do people get so agressive about liking games. Fantastic if you like it, but just because you think it's great doesn't mean everyone else will..

I actually agree with him, all the hype surrounding this game is completely undeserved, it's just another generic cosole third person hack'n'slash. Sure it's not particularly boring, but it sure as hell doesn't do anything special to warrant all the love and adoration it gets.

It had wonderful potential. The downside that it gave me were the linear missions, uncontrollable and overwhelming enemies in some missions, and pale colored environments everytime i run up a building or whenever i glide on the highest part of the city.

Fun, but massive killing gets old and repetitive whenever i travel from 1 battle to another, going to the next copy / paste grids of generic buildings.

Anyone that says the game is different is provibly wrong. From what I have seen (seen not played, so I may be missing something and will gladly renounce this statement if something is shwon to prove me worng), it looks like the Hulk game. Majority of his moves are exactly the same as the Hulks, the elbow drop, enemy slam combo thingy, etc.
When they said basedoff the Hulk game, they should have said ripped from teh Hulk game. It looks like the Hulk games but with a smaller not so brutishly built guy with a blood fetish and a blade arm taken from RE4 (forgot the guys name, but the design looks quite similar to the commando that you have QTE kinfe fight with's parasite armblade thing).

Get it as a rental, it's not worth the purchase. Not when Infamous is out and you still value getting worth out of your dollar. Really, don't throw cash away on this unless you are extremely easily entertained, there's only so many tricks a one-trick pony can pull.

Let me just say this.

Repetitiveness on how you use your powers is not fun.

Variety in your powers and how you manipulate them are fun.

Prototype might have variety in his powers, but the variety is not as deep as you think. Most of the shape-shifting melee weapons might have been good if this was a hack n' slash game, but its not. Absorbing humans was a nice concept, but not implemented nicely. It was only implemented to get backstory to your mission, gain health, and stealth. I liked the stealth aspect, but it was a shallow attempt since the AI was laughable in those stealth missions.

Infamous might not have been a classic, but it was a great game. It gave a really flexible lineup of abilities just from having lightning, ranging from different form of firearms and explosives, up to gliding and sliding from powerlines.

In conclusion, Prototype might have been better if it was a hack n' slash game rather than a sandbox game.

Played it three times through, still fun. Does its share of annoyances? Sure. Is it like Infamous? In concept, but that's where it stops primarily.

I suggest rent/borrow it first to try, and if you like, buy.

BTW- Severed Leg

Yes or No

People are still looking for the thing, considering that Activision announced it (then again they said online Co-Op and that was scratched).

Yes to this. I've been gaming for almost 25 years and this game has so far made it into my top 10. It is a freaking blast, mostly because there are so many different ways to play it. You can play it as a shooter, just pick up some guns. You can play it as a tank driver or a helicopter pilot. Or you can play any one of 5 different offensive forms (and two defensive ones, one of which really forces you to change your playstyle). Given all these options and the massive battles that take place, no battle will hardly ever turn out the same way twice. Not may games out there can say that.

For example, here was something that happened to me last night. I was trying to take down a specific hive. I was on foot and when I got there I jacked an APC. As soon as I did the alerts went up and they knew it was me, Zeus. So the helicopters came in and shot my ass to hell. My APC blew up and I had to deal with the 20+ guys with machine guns on the ground (not to mention 3-4 hunters). So I took on the whip-form and started slashing. The hunters don't go down that easily though. With my health low, I grabbed the nearest guy and booked it up to a nearby roof and consumed him. A helicopter followed me, so I used my whip arm to grab the helicopter and pull myself to it. I then killed the two inside and started to rain death from above. But I got shot down. On my fall I initiated the drop down devistator (can't remember what it is called, but if you have played, you know the one I mean) and decimated almost everything in the area. I cleaned up the rest with the claw form by running spikes through the ground and up their asses. I then ran and grabbed a soldier to take his from to evade the next squad that was after me.

Tell me that doesn't sound like a shit ton of fun.

The games great, the only downside I can think of is the short campaign. But I did hear they're making some dlc so that fixes that.

I thought it was "meh".
-The graphics didn't bother me at all. I actually thought they did a pretty nice job, especially the lack of lag, even in the crowded areas. However the brownish tone when you enter an infected area is really bad

-The sandbox element is very poorly done. There are no side-missions, just those repetitive challenges that are found in every sandbox game. The only purpose the city serves is for you to fuck it up. Other than that, there's really not much you can do.

-The attack powers are too few , and surprisingly too similar. 2 that cut, 2 that smash , and one that's kinda like a ranged attack. Nothing too special. The guns are VERY poorly inserted and are just so difficult to use properly.

-Sometimes, the game just gets ridiculously hard. Considering the game is supposed to give you the impression you're a god, and then gives you insanely hard missions (making you fight 6 helis and 4 tanks WITHOUT your powers) is just inconsistent game-design.

I can't play Infamous , since I don't have a PS 3 , however judging by what I've read and saw on youtube, like the variety of powers and depth of the character, I can say It's a WAAAAY better game than Prototype.
Actually what Prototype really is, is a fancy beat'em up in a sandbox environment.
While this probably would sound like trolling, I believe the IGN score of 7.5 was too much, since I wouldn't give this game more than 6.5

Aw , well, there's still Red Faction: Guerrilla to look forward to.....
Admittedly i did only play it for 3 hours straight, after doing the first couple of missiosn and unlovking sandbox mode i was EXTREMELY disappoint to find that there is NOTHING to do apart from the story missions except for these stupid time trials and challenges. No side stories or anything. The novelty of running up the sides of buildings and butchering hundreds of innoccents hasn't worn off yet :p
