I'd go for PS1 since back in them days graphics didn't matter much and there was a time when the console was never online so there were no 10yr olds shouting profanity down mics and no hackers and noobs of the sort.
The PS2 was interesting in terms of Hardware. For a while, you could get a Linux set from Sony which exposed all of the Hardware to the programmer. This made optimizations so much easier to discover, the PS2 had graphical effects the Xbox didn't have, even though it had better hardware.chanceisshane said:I started with the PS1 and each as served me quite well but I'd have to go with the PS2.
I don't blame the PS3 for its larger amount of lower quality games. I believe the PS2 had such great games because its graphical limit was achieved quickly and developers could focus on gameplay rather than being graphics whores.
