Try Final Fantasy 12, a good FF game with great graphics and a not-quite-turn-based combat mechanic.
Also, the Ratchet & Clank series. #3 was the best IMO.

It's not leveling, but Timesplitters: Future Perfect has enough unlockable content that it's almost like leveling, and getting 100 percent in 30 hours would be damn near impossible. And even if you do get 100 percent the replay value is almost infinite. It's about 10 dollars used on Amazon.
