Hi there,

I'm thinking of buying a PS1 multitap to use on a slimline PS2 to play PS2 games. Will it work? Or do I need a PS2 multitap?

I'm itching to play Ghost in the Shell SAC 4 players.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

well I only have an ordinary PS2 but I do believe that on that PS1 multitaps only work on PS1 games if played on a PS2 while PS2 games require a PS2 multitap (yes for all the 4 games that use it) which is why I bought a PS2 multitap just for timesplitters it must have seen a good 10 hours use as well.

Also is SAC a good game? I never got around to getting it and have heard mixed reports, I am a fan of the anime.

EDIT: it seems you can use a ps2 multitap to play ps1 games as well but not vice versa I am pretty sure (its been a long time) on this as I believe I tried it before shelling out for a PS2 multitap about 12 years ago. There has been some compatibility issues with certain games it seems on attempting to use a PS1 multitap on PS2 for PS1 games I only use it for CTR and have never had a problem.

Hmm, looks like I'm going to have to buy one of those cheap 3rd party ones, as the official PS2 ones you have to pay a bomb.

As for SAC - it's pretty fun. It's a very average game. The AI is terrible, and the levels are drab, but if you want a mindless action game to play, the single player is worth a try, especially if you're a fan of the anime.

I've played the multiplayer 2 players and that's a heck of a lot of fun. 3 or 4 players would be a riot I reckon.

Thanks for the reply.
