PS3 and X-Box

Why do we often continue to fight and argue about what is the best console (X-Box and PS3). We all know that the older consoles are the best. My point is, are we being played by the companies that produce the games and also Sony and Microsoft. My opinion is that both consoles are awesome and to be quite honest, I don't care what people say about them. Also, Because I haven't owned a X-Box, may have helped. Because I don't know what its like, I can't compare. Seriously though, What do you think? Should we refuse to fight and argue?

I don't think calling the PS2 and Xbox as the greatest is exactly fair in the first place. Both had alot of years under thier belt before this gen. Give this gen more than a few years while everyone figures out how the damn things work.

And yes the whole fanboy fighting is pointless. When you boil it down both have thier pros and cons and both have thier few killer exclusives which makes them equal.

I do agree that fanboys are useless and only cause flamewars, but I am too lazy to elaborate because I have run out of appendages to count how many times this has been done.

EDIT: And also, nostalgia can skewer your view on things.

i own both ps3 and xbox, so can observe you mere mortal arguing from my place on mount olympus.
although, as much as i love my ps3 and xbox, i will always love my ps2 more just for nostalgia value and for the near decade of happy memories.

I can vouch for this point. The heated 3 way tie between 6,7 and 8, for title of "Best FF Ever" is some of the most brutal I have ever seen on the web.

Further proving that no matter what, rivalries are inevitable. No matter how pointless some of them may be.
