Seeing as how The Escapist has probably the best community out there (seriously), I thought i'd ask you guys a question (a serious one)...
So I just received a PS3 for CMAS (it's awesome and LittleBIGPlanet is an incredible game (review of that soon hopefully after the holidays)). I already have an HDMI cable and a copy of both Iron Man and Dogma on Blu Ray. I hooked up the cable (Dynex 6 footer from best buy) and everything. Then I followed IGN's video (http://media.bluray.ign.com/articles/938/938146/vids_1.html) about how to set up Blu Ray to get the best picture and sound. Well whenever I try to set the PS3 into HDMI, the screen just stays black and then it reverts back to it's old self. I tried watching Iron Man for a few minutes and I wasn't seeing TOO MUCH difference. There was a slight sharpness, but nothing like i've seen before on displays at Best Buy. I am using an HD television (Samsung 31 Inch) and it isn't a plasma.
The question I want to ask is how do I get the HDMI to work on my PS3? What do you recommend I do? Is there something I need to do with my television first? As always with me, all help is very much appreciated and any help is always welcome.
