I have an elliptical and I would love to be able to play PS3 while I exercise on it but I really don't like the idea of trying to keep my balance while I hold my dual shock 3, or have to lean forward on my forearms to keep my balance because my hands have to be together.

Would the move controller work? Are there other accessories that might make this easier? Does anyone have any other suggestions that would work with an elliptical?

Play a game that doesn't require you to utilize the entire controller at all times. Most turn-based RPGs are good for this.

Honestly? I'd say you should probably have a show, or a movie or some music on or something. That kind of multitasking seems awful.

Anyway...
PS3 has a bunch of really good turned based JRPGs. Go check out some of the stuff by Nippon Ichi.

one other question, could the move navigation controller be used in conjunction with a normal sixaxis/DS3? like the nav controller in the left hand and the DS3 in the right?

When I was working out (must start doing that again0 on an elliptical, I always watched something off netflix. I mounted a small shelf on the wall in front of the machine and put my laptop on it. I used some "sport" ear buds, the kind that wrap around the back of your ear, for sound. All was good even if the cheap ear buds sounded sorta crappy. There's too much body movement on that type of workout machine to use a controller all the time.

yeah, i can already stream netflix to my phone and use that (my elliptical also houses built in speakers so i can boost the sound), but it would be a better incentive for me if could play instead of watch...

After you practice a little, you'll find you don't even need to keep your hands on the elliptical. I play my Vita at the YMCA gym on an eliptical.
