PS3 Firmware 3.0

The new firmware upgrade is out today and now my XMB background sparkles like a pansy vampire...

It can be switched off obviously, but it seems like the most drastic change that was made... I like the XMB but I was expecting something...more...thumbnails to the store icon and what's new board... (maybe I've missed something...)

I know we were told there was no radical changes in store but this really seems like for no reason update.

Thoughts?

The "Whats New" Thing is good, being allowed to jump back into games is good, Trophies load faster. Yeah can't see why you wouldn't want it though tbh! Dunno why you can't see it though

I like it, but the silver portraits around the people on my friends list is ugly.

It's not that I don't want it, it just feels a bit...superficial...
