Hi, now I hate to ruin 2 years of perfectly good lurking but I've got a bit of a problem. Hopefully one you console gamers can help with.

Last Christmas my girlfriend bought me a PS3, 60 gig model, the one with Other OS and the PS2 support. That is not the problem. The problem is, it just kind of sits there under my television gathering dust. Since it's almost Christmas again it's becoming a little bit of a touchy subject.

Being a PC gamer I promptly put Linux on it and connected it to the wireless network but that didn't really impress her much. I went out and bought Uncharted because Sony had that ad where that hot girl watches that guy play it. I can't stand to play it though. Sure its pretty, but the core of the game is bland cover shooter.

Next I bought God of War 3, and all was well for about a weekend, but then the game was over, and the PS3 was back to being cold and alone.

So console gamers. I throw myself upon your mercy. Can you suggest me a game? It doesn't have to be two player, we could switch out periodically. The game needs to be easy to play, but still have additional depth when you go looking for it. Kind of like Lego Starwars I guess. I welcome your suggestions and promise not to troll any console fans by referring to PC gamers as "the master race" for a period of one year.

-edit: I should add that hopefully we could play this game together.

It's not co-op but I found Red Dead Redemption to be a very good game, both in game play and an interesting story. Unfortunately it seems like fewer and fewer games are featuring local multiplayer (wii is probably your best bet for that but that doesn't really solve your problem).

Reistance: Fall of Man has co-op which I found to be entertaining. I'm trying to think of games I played through with my roommate but there are so few with local multiplayer. Unreal Tournament 3 is good for some fast paced multiplayer fpsing. Yeah, I'm really blanking on this.

Edit: There's also Trine, if you like platforming puzzle solving.
