read this:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102890-Rumor-Hackers-Crack-PS3-Copy-Protection

and watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jOEbZEkp9A&feature=topvideos

After watching the video i was thinking, they didnt show any games being played at all just booting up which makes me think that the "PSJailbreak" which puts your ps3 into debug mode and lets you copy games to your HDD is fake.
It might let you copy some data from the disk but i think you still have to have the disk in the drive or it will crash your ps3 and thats why you dont see them playing any games in the videos.
Anyway what do ye think?

also from what i was reading online they used a stolen ps3 dev-kit to make it, so i hope sony sues the fuck out of them.

By saying that you sound like someone who really wants to mod a PS3 to pirate games but feels it's wrong so strongly lashes out in the other direction.

This is interesting. I may purchase one, if they are in fact legal. I am currently unsure if they are or not.
It could be very useful, as it would remove the need for disks, but then again, Sony will probably prevent the use of it in a software update, so there is little point.

I think it's real. But if it that easy to do with JUST a USB, the next patch that they are due for in about a week or so would counter it. Play Station loves their patches.

Meh. It might work it's not the PS3 is perfect afterall, someone could manipulate it to do what he wants. No system is air tight so hackers get through eventually. Still, I'd be fun to find out that this actually cause a pirates PS3 to fry itself when he tries to play a game.
