Ps3 problem!!! Please help

My 9month old playstion3 has had a problem and i have no idea of how to fix and/or rectife it.

When i flick the on switch on the back the red light goes on and i hit it, then the green light comes on however after that the screen just flickers abnd doesnt not even go to the work screen, i have tired to "soft restart" which is wear i hold the on the on butten and it beeps but it doeas nothing what so ever, then beeps 3 times


i have no idea what to do pleasee help

ok first off, have you used this PS3 with any other TV's recently? Are you using the composite or HDMI cables? Have you tried using it on a different TV or using different cables?

No i havent movced it from the same tv and im using av cables for the sound and video, the calbes nad tv are fine and not the problem

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, you have the yellow light of death here. I'm sorry to say your console firmware may have gotten corrupted or the harddisk is no longer readable http://www.google.com/search?q=YLOD...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

You sure the controller is working if you're stuck on the loading screen? Try a different controller.

No not the loading but the first welocome screen were it says sony computer entertainment and then it wont go past that screen

Well not exactly, there was a problem when SSBB first came out that certain launch Wii's couldn't read the disk. Also there was a botched firmware update that came out that would brick consoles but I believe both were resolved rather quickly.
